Why does daily walking matter?
Daily walking helps improve heart health, strengthen muscles, and maintain a healthy weight. It can reduce stress, improve mood, and increase energy throughout the day.
Supports heart health
Regular physical activity supports the functioning of the cardiovascular system and is associated with a lower risk of heart disease.
Strengthens the body
Walking activates the leg muscles and helps maintain mobility, balance, and endurance.
Helps manage weight
By using energy, walking can help with weight management, especially when combined with a balanced diet.
Improves mood
Physical activity can reduce short-term anxiety, support sleep, and improve emotional well-being.
A practical weekly goal
The World Health Organization recommends that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity each week. Brisk walking can be a practical way to move closer to this goal.
Start with 10–15 minutes of walking and gradually increase the duration. Even short periods of activity are valuable.
